When using a recumbent bike is it best to use...?!

Question: When using a recumbent bike is it best to use...?
Is it better to bike faster at a lower resistance or slower at a higher resistance if I work for the same amount of time?
Also, what are some other exercises I could do without buying resistance bands or weights that can help me with my weight loss goals.
I have a yoga ball that has resistance bands attached, but I have no idea what to do with it. :P
Thanks!

Faster is always better. Higher resistance just makes it more difficult to pedal faster. The faster you go, the greater your heart rate, the more calories you will burn.

However, weight loss is more about resistance training, so whatever resistance training you can do, even if it is just crunches, push ups, etc., you should integrate them into your routine.

My personal favourite is high intensity interval training (HIIT), basically pedal fast for 30 seconds, then slow, then fast etc. The reason this is so good is because it raises your heart rate and metabalism meaning that you continue to burn calories even after you have finished your workout.
