Answers:

If it is your first time working out, I recommend you to start doing some cardio work outs before anything, to get your heart and body ready for the blood pumping. some stuff like jogging for about 15 mins, or do eliptical machine for the same time as well. you could do that for about two weeks before starting working out, 3 or 4 times a week. for a person of your age, you don't need to be doing extremely heavy lifting, but you can lift any weights without a problem, working any muscle as well.

a good workout plan is based on working out 5 days a week. you can arrange your routine as you prefer, but I recommend you to work out 2 muscles a day. ex: monday: chest and legs, Tuesdays: triceps and biceps, Wednesdays: shoulders and forearms, Thursdays: yoga (essential for flexibility, balance and good health), Fridays: you can do a cardio work out or do a little bit more of other part of your body that you consider.

abs, you can adjust a plan of doing it 3 times a week. YOU DON'T HAVE TO DO ABS EVERY DAY.
and the other two days, you can either take one for jogging, or stretch, and the other one REST!

you know a really FUN and effective workout is a zumba class, it is great cardio, but it also builds abs (no crunches) if you can't get a class the game for the WII is actually very good, i have been taking classes for years and the game is actually better then 1 or 2 classes i have been to, if you can afford it you can also buy the dvd's and it would be fun alone or w friends (even with your family if you wanted) i am a yoga instructor and so i also love the strength and flexibility you can gain from that , I think if you don't like what you are doing it makes it harder to do, if you find a workout you like you are more likely to stick to it, you can have a GREAT plan but if you don't stick to it what does it matter so find a fun workout you like and drink ALOT of water, good luck

Sounds like you want to do crunches.
They're pretty simple, lie down on the ground, put your hands behind your head (be face up), and put your feet flat on the ground, keeping them close to your butt, but not too close.
Then simply sit up, trying not to move your feet.
Try doing ten of these a day, until they get easier, then do fifteen, and so on.
For getting in shape, also do ten push-ups a day.
