not to a point where you will get satisfaction within the first month of an intense fast walking routine. You would have to do a long workout of rigorous fast walking to burn belly fat. You're better off doing a workout that works your core muscles, like swimming laps.

Hello there
yes fast walking will help reduce belly fat but what has been shown to work even more effectively is interval training i.e walk for 2 minutes, jog/run for 1, walk for 2, jog for 1 then reduce this is it is one minute walk, one minute run and your fitness will improve as well as reduced body fat and you only need 30 minutes 3 times a week of effective interval training to see results!

good luck

Any kind of activity and proper diet will decrease fat (stored energy). Lower your carbohydrate intake and exercise daily, quit eating processed foods and sugars. Ive been at it for a couple days now and im already noticing a small difference in tone. Peanut butter helps keep you feeling full while also giving you a good amounts of protein and vitamins. Eat different kinds of fruit as well. Hope this helps :)

I walk 3.5 miles a day for four months now and have lost 33 lbs. I walk 20 minute miles. Good pace. Careful with walking too fast because you lose focus on proper form and can aggrivate a knee ligament, strain a hip flexor muscle, get shin splints, or hurt your lower back. A moderate pace with good, consistent form will do the trick. The thing to remember is that putting the weight on took time.......so taking the weight off will also take time. Walk everyday and make it part of your daily living. Walk the same time each day. Wear comfy clothing, lift your head up, feel good, take in the scenery, the fresh air and walk with good form. Important to know though.....that walking is only one third of the puzzle. You also need to drink eight to ten glasses of water and cut down your calorie intake. I cut down from 2,500 to 1600 daily. Limit sugar, limit sodium, decrease carbs, no eating out, and increase your protien. Begin to live in the produce department. It is amazing when you stuff your kitchen with fruit, veggies, and whole grains, when you are hungry you will be eating these foods. So exercise, water and diet will allow you to melt the fat right off your body. Allow yourself time to lose the weight. But make certain that you are out there every day, walking. Life is so very short. Hours, days, weeks, months, and birthdays fly by so fast. So with your new daily routine in place, it wont be long before you are looking your best. Five months will surely come. It will be here. It is guaranteed. So when those five months do come.........how do you want to look? I am 45 years old. I am back in college. People say....."arent you a bit old to be in college?" I tell them 'of course not. The age of being 49 will definately be here. So when I am 49, where do I want to be? Well, I want to be a Physician Assistant.' We have, on the average, 80 years to live. Thats not a very long time. There were so many people here before us. There will be so many people here after us. This is just a fragment in time. How we live our lives, the choices that we make, the challenges that we can decide to face head-on in order to facilitate necessary changes.....is critical for our very own well being. Good luck. Stay focused.
