I'm doing a 7 day fruit and veggie diet and already feel sick...?!

Question: I'm doing a 7 day fruit and veggie diet and already feel sick...?
I am on day 2 of a fruit and veggie diet. I wanted to make it to 7 days but I'm getting headaches and now my throat is hurting like I am getting sick. Could I be getting sick from the detox?

For breakfast I have had oatmeal, and then fruits and veggies all day. For dinner I've had a plain vegetarian patty.

I've been really hungry and am also drinking hot water with lemon and cayenne pepper.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what I should do?

That sounds like a terrible diet. Sorry. It's no surprise you're feeling sick. For your body to function properly you need a bit of everything, people become overweight because they eat too much of a certain thing. You need to have a balanced diet, fruit, veg, meat, carbs, sugars etc or you will do more harm than good. If you're dieting without exercise eat around 1500-1800 calories a day, but if you're doing it with exercise eat between 1800 and 2000 calories a day. If you're hungry either have fruit or water, don't snack on toast on cereal, they may seem healthy but if you look at what's in them and the amount you have, it can total to a pretty dangerous amount. All the best and good luck.

To be healthy and feel good you need a balanced diet. On your diet just eating fruit means your missing out on vital nutrients, protein, wholegrain, fats and dairy. Balance is good, and the lack of it in this diet means that your body is suffering, making you feel ill. I suggest you stop the diet as these feelings are just going to get worse and it's pretty bad for your body, just stop and continue with a balanced healthy diet you can still lose weight, just in a more healthy way (:

I bet your starting to **** like a goose to! The cayenne pepper must make the piss thats coming outta your *** feel like a road flare! You should be taking a multi vitamin during this diet. You should still be drinking milk. You could do without doing a veggie diet completely because your going to go back to eating normal after. Unless you are becoming vegetarian. Try tofu. Thats just bean curd (Still a vegetable). Your muscles are probably breaking down from the lack of protein consumption and its releasing cortisol which is a stress hormone. This also releases free radicals which can build up in your system and make you sick.

Eat more protein please. This diet sounds like hell and I would give it up right away. Vegetables and fruits do not have enough calories to survive off of. You NEED protein
try eating lean meats, eggs, low-fat dairy such as yogurt, cottage cheese, skim milk
or if you do not want animal products eat tofu, meat substitutes, beans, nuts etc
all you need to do is add more protein, that is why you feel sick.
Don't do this diet. All you need to do is exercise..

Eat more maybe?
First off you said you were on a fruit and veggie diet and you ate oatmeal. Thats not a fruit or veggie.

Yes you can become sick from detoxing. So it might be that or your not eating enough. Just keep at it, typically its only bad for 3 days.

Sorry to tell you, but detox diets are nonsense, you've probably got ill from the sudden lack of calories and nutrients. Here's a good article explaining in detail what's wrong with them:

You need proteins and nutritious foods in your diet so try different diets - like dairy free and drink soy milk for calcium. Or vegetarian - and eat lentils or something. Or eat normally and exercise.

shouldn't be sick already....

what you need is a big bacon bap!
