Question: Around 800 calories a day to lose weight?
I'm 5ft 5in and weight almost 200lbs D: I don't look it though cuz I have a lot of muscle..but I really wanna slim down so I've been gradually lowering my calorie intake. Is 800 ok? I'm not starving or anything...just been eating salad, crackers, fruit, low cal stuff like that throughout the day. I'm also starting to drink tons of water. I don't exercise that much, usually when I wake up I use weights and do push ups, sit ups,etc. I also do that before I go to bed and sometimes just when I'm bored. Will I lose weight if I continue doing this?

No you won't.

Your body generally needs 1200 calories to maintain normal functioning and that is without exercise. However, to maintain the health of your body you need to consume 1500calories in order to obtain all the nutrients your body needs in the day! Best way is to add exercise in your daily routine!

By consuming less calories then your body wants will make your body turn onto starvation mode which means everything you put into your body will be turned into fat! and as soon as you put your calories back to normal your body continues to store it as fat until it realizes your not starving it anymore. Thats commonly why people gain all the weight back plus some when they go back to their normal diets.

You need to eat more than 800 calories a day. And you need to do frequent cardio work outs. If you're a girl you need at least 1,200 calories and if you're a guy you need at least 2,000. Make sure you do a minimum of 30 minutes of cardio a day and then also do strength work outs.
