White Rice healthier then Bush Baked Beans?!

Question: White Rice healthier then Bush Baked Beans?
I'm trying to cook a healthy dinner for my husband but it's hard to come up with sides since he won't eat veggies.

It's between his favorite Bush Baked Beans or plain white rice. He loves both. Which would be a better choice?

(Yes I know white rice is full of carbs but we don't have any brown rice at the moment.)

Answers:

Ask your body because we don't know (in spite of what the other answerers will tell you).

It's important to stop thinking of foods as good or bad, healthy or unhealthy. They are all good and bad. Apples contain a deadly poison in their seeds so are they bad? Pizza contains fat which your body needs to survive so is pizza good? Cottage cheese contains protein which can poison your system and shut down your kidneys so is cottage cheese bad? Is milk good? What if you're lactose intolerant? Too much water will kill you but not enough will kill you too. So what does that make water? Good? Bad?

There are no good or bad foods.

Foods are only good (healthy) when you need them and bad (unhealthy) in excess. Try thinking in terms of what your body needs instead of trying to lump foods into catagories labeled "good" or "bad".

Concentrate on eating a varied diet of wholesome and nutritious foods while keeping your caloric intake at your burn level (for maintenance) and your macronutrient ratios at about 55/25/20. Do that and you'll be eating healthy.

Good luck and good health!!

NOTE: "Food" is defined as...

"any nourishing substance that is eaten, drunk, or otherwise taken into the body to sustain life, provide energy, promote growth, etc." Ref: http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/F…

The foregoing assumes food is pure and uncontaminated either by accident or intent.
