you said yourself that you are a kid. love and marriage come after school. You have many years before you have to really worry about your size.

I am 5'3 and 142lb. i get told all the time that i am thin and pretty. that's the difference between being in high school and after school. I got made fun of badly in school because of people calling me fat, they also made fun of my hair and how short i was.

after i graduated i heard the opposite. don't worry things will get better as you get older.

In short, you are the perfect size for you age and height, and i am sure that you are beautiful to boot.

I'm going to tell you something and I want you to listen to me; you are NOT fat. According to bmi a healthy weight for someone of your height is between 120 and 145. And even then a bmi does not take in to the factor of what is muscle, body fat, and everything else. You are not fat, I think that when you look in the mirror you see that your not fat and you know it in your head but you nit pick at the little things you don't like. I don't think that you need to loose that much , I would suggest that if you feel you want to loose weight to just add in 3 workouts a week to tone the little body fat that you have. I wouldnt set this as a huge weight loss journey. When you start doing cardio thats when you will loose pounds and strenght excerises for toning. Choose as you will, Its not what the scale says if you are healthy and you feel confident then hunny you got it all <3 ,
there are many body types out there in which the bmi doesnt count either, so be proud of what you got!

Your probably not overweight, just probably need to loose wight. Try a variety of sports, such as running, swimming, soccer, tennis, football. Then you can do exercises such as push ups, sit ups, and all of that stuff to build your muscles. Try classes at a gym or sport at school, or exersice with your friends for motivation. The worst thing to do is to give up when you first start doing stuff begaces you loose all your motivation

i wouldnt think u were fat. im 5'2, i used to weigh 140(i kinda gained a lil hehe), so i'd look chubby cuz of my hieght. i wasnt called fat.
some times its the type of people around u.
i live in a place with alot of mexicans. mexicans tend to be thicker (not fat) so i was kinda normal.
but if ur surrounded by white people, who tend to be more slim, you'd probably be seen as little more chunkier. the only person who can tell u ur fat is your doctor.
140 may be like close to being over weight. so a lil exercise never hurts. and maybe a change in eating habit (don't diet)
i gave up soda and lost a good few pound.
good luck

Well your BMI is in the healthy range. It's 24.0. I'm not trying to discourage you but 20lbs is a lot to lose. If you really want to lose those 20lbs you have to eat healthy portions of food everyday. Add some cardio in for 30-40 mins every 3-4 days a week. Lifting weights helps a lot too! Good Luck. I hope you succeed. Unlike me i'm trying to lose 5 pounds and i can't even do that.

your bmi is 24 so nope youre not overweight, but a bmi of 25 is overweight. this calculation could be off because it doesnt take muscke into account. if you have a lotbof musclue you will weight more. if youre concerned about your weight eat healthy, get active, and have fun!! good luck(:

you weigh the average of an adult woman at 5"5. It's a normal, healthy weight at your age also, but if you wanna drop 20lbs, go for it :)
obese would be like 160lb+ for girls, anywhere between 115-150 is healthy

Well maybe you could have a lot of muscle. Muscle can make you gain a lot of weight. I do not think you are fat in any way.
I would appreciate a picture of you though so I can make a firm decision.

You are average. If you want to lose weight you can consider losing 20lbs but not much more. You are still growing and your body is at an awkard stage. Don't worry about what other people think, everyone has insecurities even the most popular kids at school

Depends more on your body composition rather than weight. Where is most of your weight coming from? A thick build, muscle or fat? Your stats don't seem overweight anyway.

no not really.and if u did want to lose 20 lbs.exercise, run, eat healthy, and EXERCISE BEFORE EXCERCISING

Figure out your Bmi with a bmi calculator. Or ask you doctor.

Usually, at thirteen it would be around 140lbs, so your not fat. Using the word "fat" is a bit harsh, but you're probably just feeling impact of the corn companies and baby fat. Wanna lose weight? Go for it. Try this:

The corn companies are your average, blood-sucking, life-removing, processed, unhealthy junk. I'm talking Pop-Tarts, Nutri-Grains, and things like those which contain Corn Syrup or Corn By-Product. Natural corn, like corn on the cob, is plenty good for you. But when corn is jacked into syrup, starch, or corn syrup solids, then it is really super unhealthy. You would rather have cane sugar then that stuff. The commercials say opposite, but they just try to trick you :)

Really, the best way to lose weight is to burn more calories then you eat. So, start out the day with some Omega-3 fatty acid (a super-healthy acid that keeps you alive) and some protein. That counts eggs and fish. Protein can come in bacon, ham and any other used to be living thing. You also have CARBS! Boo! Okay, usually you should cut down on carbs. Try to gather more of your vitamins then what you want to eat, because your body only becomes hungry when it wants nutrition. If your body gets no nutrition then it's always hungry.

But whatever you do, don't starve yourself. There is no point in doing that. Don't become bulimic either, because it can seriously damage you. Eat when you are hungry, but start out with fresh fruits and vegetables, because it's quality that matters not quantity. Also, start a schedule to stretch or run each day. Doing so can prepare you for life later on :)

Last but not least, is quality. Sure, you can buy some apples or a jug of milk from Wal-Mart... however, they can be made with ghastly things to poison your diet. Try looking for organic or natural brands of foods. They usually are more expensive, but you need to weigh your options: Expensive and healthy, or cheap and totally jacked because your so sick..? You choose.

I'm sorry this was such a long message, but I am always concerned about everyone's health. My friends call me a nutrition because I'm boring with everything I say. Hope I helped out :D
