Question: Best way to get abs for a 20 year old female?
I have been working out for about two months now and everything is toned up nicely but my stomach. I was wondering the best way to get abs for a female. I've been doing crunches and side crunches but it's just not cutting it. (im also already eating fresh vegies whole grain etc daily calorie intake 1200) any tips?

So this is from my boyfriend who has a 6 pack and is helping me get ripped. You have to get your heart rate up with cardio like running, you can do as many situps as you want but unless you lose fat it won't do much justice. Do core exercises that work the legs, back and abs. The back strength oddly is the foundation for getting great abs. Try doing leg lifts and swivel leg lifts while using those bars that hook onto your door and yoga/pilates. And your eating low fat which is good.



jogging is an excellent exercise because it let you lose weight
evenly throughout your whole body. If you want to lose weight in
specific areas, you should target them with exercises. If they are
your problem areas, they will be very difficult to tone. You will have
to work double on them. The best approach is this:
1. Lower/control your daily calorie intake (control for normal
weight, lower for overweight).
2. Run/jog to lower your overall body fat percentage.
3. Target your problem areas with exercises.
an excellent exercise, you can do it in front of your TV: sit on a
stool, and put your toes under something (piece of heavy furniture,
for example). In your hands hold a little dumbbell. Please, make sure
that it is not very heavy, start with one kilo, for example, or you
will damage your back and spine! Slowly move the upper part of your
body back, until it's parallel with the ground. Stop for a second and
move it back to the sitting position. Repeat ten times. Every week add
to the number of repetitions. You will see the results in a week,
guaranteed! You will see or feel under the fat - if you have any - six
pack and muscles. Dumbbells do wonders. Much better than these
crunches - I came up to three hundreds and there was no results AT
ALL. With the dumbbells you will see it in a week.



Crunches and side crunches are great for gaining abdominal strength, but they won't help you with getting a six pack (or 8 pack). For the look, you're going to have to diet and do some heavy cardio. Get your heart rate up high and burn a bunch of calories and you'll start to see results. Running and (intense) swimming will get you there. The absolute best way to get abs is to have someone force you to do the butterfly stroke in the pool and yell at you to go faster. Good luck!!!



sit ups and crunches aren't always the best way to get strong abs. In MY opinion push ups build your arm muscles AND your abs/core.

the best exercise foe abs are situps. Do them 30 minutes a day xD It worked for me ^^
