Popcorn calorie confusion help eek?!

Question: Popcorn calorie confusion help eek?
im confused because on the box, it has one for "popped" and one for "not popped". i had an entire bag of whole grain buttered popcorn (movie time<3) and according to the bag there are 2.5 servings in each.

but, for popped it says a different number than unpopped. so im really confused. also on some websites, i get as low as 30 calories per cup and on others i get as much as 200 per cup.

btw, microwave popped the corm

Answers:

You ate popped corn. So you count the calories on the "popped" side. Take the number they have and multiply it by 2.5.

The discrepancy online could be anything: inclusion of butter, popped vs. not popped, salt, caramel, etc. Also, think about it: more un-popped kernels fit into a 1/2 cup measuring cup than popped, because they're smaller.
