What do you think? Is she anorexic?!

Question: What do you think? Is she anorexic?
My friend is 17 years old and she used to be not very heavy, but overweight.
Over the past 6 months she's lost a lottt of weight.
Lately, she's been very tired and cranky and she looks REALLY skinny.
She eats, but she eats very little. Like if we go out to eat then she'll have a salad with no dressing.
She always complains that she's fat and I tell her she's not. She thinks that I'm skinnier than her, but I'm not. I am 5"5 and like 105 pounds.
After we had gym in school I saw her changing in the locker room and her ribs were sticking out, she looked disgusting
This is what she used to look like:

And this is what she looks like now:

I mean, you just asked a question stating you weigh 170 pounds.

Sweetie i think she is, but anorexia can only
Be truly diagnosed by a doctor. Try helping and talking to her first, but if she gets upset by it, just back off but tell an adult that knows and cares about her like her parents or your mum who you can talk to easily. If she has anorexia, she will think shes fat, so if she ever tells you 'im fat' tell her shes not and mean it! I hope this helps and really hope that she can fight whatever she has. :)

yes, or bulimic. it depends, if she works out it could be anorexia athletica, or if she just doesnt eat is anorexia nervosa. you could do some research about it, and please talk to her. if she continues this, she will have severe health problems in the future. she looks like she lost 70 pounds. in 6 months, that is very unhealthy, since she wasn't overly obese. friends need to look out for each other.

Anorexia has to be diagnosed by a doctor, you cant just tell. And she used to be fat so maybe she is just having some psychological problems, when she looks at herself she still sees her fat self and thinks she still needs to loose weight. She needs help, try to talk to her. Or she can see a counselor too.

Definitely. That looks like the body of a person who has starved themselves rather than dieted. Get her help

for sure. please please please, no matter what she says, tell her parents to take her to a checkup. you dont realize how life threatening anorexia is. it seems like :"sure big deal, shes not eating much, some people are very picky." but no, not eating ESPECIALLY over the course of 6 months could kill a person, if she continues like this, even for another 2 weeks, she will faint. its super horrible disease, get her help. she may hate you for it, but thank you over one hundred times when shes cured. it COULD take anywhere from 3 months, to her whole life to get over it though. i was lucky, it took me 3 months, and i am more happy then ever.
