Question: Diet and fitness help?
What is a good diet to follow? i need to loose 1stone 7lbs... Also what do you do for motivation because i find it difficult to get into the swing of things when i first begin my diet but after the first week or 2 i get in the zone and i am fine. But i do kinda slack with the exercise side of things... i can't afford to go to the gym but i have a fitness Dvd, a treadmill, a bike.. and no motivation.

Motivation is only there once you decide it to be.. and nobody can decide it for you. Once you make this decision, follow your DVD, go on your treadmill, etc. Start slow - maybe 10 minutes of power walking on your treadmill three times in a week.. then the next week go to 15 minutes per use, then the third week crank the speed up a tiny bit, build it slowly like that.

I guarantee - once you see results in your physique, it will increase your motivation. Good luck.



7 pounds will come off very quickly if you stay committed to your habits. Don't call it dieting because they don't last, your changing your whole lifestyle. First just start out slowly...Try to exercise at least 3 times a week for 20 minutes. Running on the treadmill is great cardio as long as your challenging yourself. Also try cutting out junk food and sweets. For starters, just try to eliminate everything you drink, and just stick with water. Then try cutting out the junk food you eat on a daily basis. Try eating things like: eggs (or egg whites since they eliminate about 3/4 of the calories), whole wheat breads, string cheese, rice cakes, greek yogurt, almonds, cottage cheese, grilled chicken, fish, low fat/low sugar cereals (whole grain and whole wheat), dried fruits and nuts, etc. Most importantly FRUITS AND VEGGIES. You should not limit yourself to fruit and veggies because they are awesome awesome awesome. If your in the mood for something sweet try an apple or banana with peanut butter instead of going for junk food. Also try making your own smoothies with ice, low fat milk or greek yogurt.

To stay motivated just remind yourself that your getting better and healthier with each day, Your going to feel so much happier, healthier and confident!

Dinner: Something healthy but nutritious.
Snacks: Nuts and fruit.Almonds and brazil nuts are a favourite of mine!
Set yourself goal weights each week, bitesized targets make it less daunting.
Eg: Current weight : 147lbs Target weight: 144lbs
Exercise wise,Little and often. I walk everywhere and do crunches, squats, leg cycles, leg lifts and star jumps at home. Pilates/fitness dvd's are good to and are usually done in sections, so pick one area which you do 4 times a week, then the next week do a different section. :)

Personal experience.



To be honest diets don't really work, as you are only changing your diet for a limited time and then once you have lost the weight. You would go back to you original diet and gain the weight back, the best thing you could do is cut things you know you could live without, i.e chocholate, fizzy drinks etc they cause you to gain the most weight, also half hour excercise mainly cardio like running,
it may take longer to loose the weight but it would be more likely to stay off.

REMEMBER YOU WILL ONLY LOOSE IT IF YOU WANT TO.

My own experience with loosing weight



you can eat how much you like if you stay within these 3 guidelines and still lose fat naturally and gradually. You should lose 10lbs each month on average.

1.eat only steamed lean meats, eggs, healthy fruits ,vegetables, nuts, grains, & yogurt..2. drink only water, juice, & milk..3. walk or do some physical exercise 1-3 hour every day.


(btw, recommend you also to buy an electronic food steamer ((Very cheap)) and a rice cooker as makes it very easy to prepare healthy meals ,,add a bit of olive oil and pepper, spices on top of steamed vegeatables, fish or chicken to add more taste if wish as these are healthy too.)
