How to overcome a negative body image?!

Question: How to overcome a negative body image?
I'm a very active person, and I am in no way overweight, but I have a very negative image of my own body. I'm constantly comparing myself to girls that are skinnier and more toned than me, and it's getting very out of hand. I'm mostly conscious about my stomach, because it's not perfectly flat, and most of my friends have completely flat stomachs, so it gets to me sometimes. I workout 4 times a week and do excercises to specifically target my stomach area, but I always feel like I'm fat. Any helpful advice/suggestions?

This is a tough one, and I wish there was an easy answer, but unfortunately there really isn't. But the first thing to do is to stop comparing yourself to others. Every single person is built differently, and it will do no good to compare yourself to your friends and the other people around you.

Try to appreciate your body for what it does for you. For instance, when I'm having a "fat day" and I feel like my thighs are so huge, I remind myself of how strong they are, how they can carry me on walks/runs and up hills etc. Your body is an amazingly built machine, and sometimes you just have to take a minute to remember all the amazing things it does for you each day, without you even having to think about it.

Some people just aren't built to be stick-thin and that is perfectly fine. Personally, the women who I think are the most beautiful and attractive are the ones with a little more meat on their bones (think Scarlett Johansen, Kate Winslet, etc). I've struggled with my own body image for a long time, and I am just starting to realize that life is way to short to get caught up worrying about those types of things. Flaunt what you got, girl! You are beautiful!

Hope that helped!
