Question: For all the gym freaks etc...?
A friend of mine who's a bit over-weight got a gym membership about a year ago, she's gone constantly for the whole year, but she hasn't lost any weight. This girl that we know said she should just use things like the treadmill till she runs off that excess fat and then start doing weights to gain muscle, because if she tries to gain muscle while she's still overweight then she isn't going to lose the weight, but actually gain it by having muscle?! Is this true? I just found it really interesting. Thanks (:

Yeah, her main focus should be doing cardio if shes fat, and tell her to stop eating junk food. Hot dogs, hamburgers, soda, chips, etc. are all bad for losing weight. You think chicken and steaks are healthy? Not if they are covered in fatty seasonings and sauces. Eat things like fruits, vegetables, lean meats, but over all get a well balanced diet.

Stricter Diet + Cardiovascular Workouts = Losing Fat



Muscle weighs more than fat.

She could not be losing any weight though because of her diet. She should eat less calories then she eats now and do like 30 mins of cardio 3-5 times a week.
