Question: Tips on loosing weight in 3 months?
hi, im 13 years old and its the end of february right now. on march 1st, im going on a diet because i need to loose weight in my stomach in my thighs. i am 125 pounds and am 5 feet and 3 inchs tall. im not that overweight but i dont wanna look fat in the summer. so i wanna loose at least 20 in 3 months (by june). this is my plan:
-i will eat as healthy as possible
-i will drink nothing but water cuz thats all i like anyway
-i will do push-ups and sit-ups 20 minutes a day
-i will try to walk around more often
i have some questions too:
-can i have strawberry, banana smoothies?
-any tips on how to loose weight?
-should i do anything else to loose weight?
-about how much weight do u think i will loose by june?
-anything else?

Good news - your idea weight is between 107lb to 123lb depending on your frame. This means you do not need to lose 20 pounds. At the most you need to lose to reach your target weight is 18 pounds.

More Good News - You can safety lose about 1% of your body weight a week. For you that means losing around 1 and 1/4lb. So in the 13 weeks between March 1st and June 1st you can expect to lose around 16lb.

Your plan sounds very sensible. More sensible than most people trying to lose weight. However your workout is a little extreme. Unless you currently workout frequently, give yourself some days off. I think you will be very successful. You can have your daily smoothie. Smoothies are a great quick breakfast full of nutrients. Things I would personally recommend are
1)Try to add some cardio. Anything that will cause a burning sensation in your muscles. That burning sensation is a indicator of Oxygen debt. Oxygen debt helps you burn calories.
2) Wake up, exercise, cool down, then eat. Eating after your exercise will keep you from feeling sluggish during your workout. You will also consume less after a good workout. As an added bonus your morning workout will boost your energy level and mood throughout the day.
3) Do not give into fad diets.


Side note - Just in case you come across any of that negative Calorie stuff. There is a difference between a Calorie and a calorie. A Calorie is the energy from food. A calorie is the amount of energy need to heat 1 gram of water 1 degree Celsius. 1 food Calorie contains 1,000 gram calories.

I would love to get thin as well! If you have smoothies, dont have ice cream in it and dont have too much yoghurt either. Try run as well. Jog around around the house or something and do house chores, this works most parts of your body as well. You can lose as much weight as you want, depending on what you do and how you do it. Drink milk as well, it has calcium and it will help your bones develope. Hope i helped :)



hmm .. let me guess, you are a girl?
well, 99% of girls think they are fat, which actually is a medical case (no joke) ..ANYWAY, before you choose to lose weight, make sure you really are FAT compared to OTHER PEOPLE, don't just say you are fat. my class mate is SUPER skinny and she still thinks she is fat.
anyway you shouldn't lose 20 lbs in 3 months that is a lot to lose in a little time, and you would probably burn muscles not fat.
you have to lose weight SLOWLY
just drink lots of water, eat as much as your body needs (don't eat less! eat just normal .. till you feel full)
run 10 minutes everyday and increase half a minute every day. and don't do any push ups or anything. sur you can eat whatever you want
you are growing and you should eat everything u want. just exercises ... i don't find any reason why you should do push ups or sit ups .. like seriously, just run 10 minutes and increase half everyday. and once again. for god's sake don't starve your body! you will lose muscles and the heart's muscle will get damaged, and if you keep doing it you will end up DYING!, almost every girl thinks she is fat and starves her body,don't be like that.

oh by the way, i have seen your question "what to do about my crush" but didn't get the chance to answer since it was resolved. stop telling your friends to ask him out for you. do it yourself because he will say yes if you do that (if he likes you) maybe he is not comfortable telling your friend, he might be shy.
