Well this tends to happen, as you age your metabolism slows down. All her unhealthy eating habits are catching up with her.
The best thing you can do is not criticize her about her weight, what she is eating or exercise. This will make her mad. You need to support her, maybe make a large salad and keep it in the fridge. Or start cooking healthy meals together. Get your body moving, go for walks together, do some couples yoga haha
and sex is a great workout! :)
Her metabolism is slowing down and it's only going to get slower as time goes on. This means she can't eat as much if she expects to be thin. If she doesn't change her lifestyle, then I hope you like big women because that's what she will be and soon. Unless she is really willing to change, she'll never have a flat tummy again and that gut is only going to get bigger. I think you should really encourage her to exercise and then think of a way to ease her off all of that junk food
Her once fast metabolism has finally begun to slow down which is common for someone in their thirties. If she doesn't start changing her eating and exercising habits, then she will get very big and it wouldn't surprise me if she hit 200 pounds. To get her flat stomach back she is going to have to work really hard for it, and she should start asap because it's gonna get harder with every extra pound she gains.

First of all, good news for you! You can easily slim down and much faster than any other age group as you have the highest metabolism rate. You only need to note three things; Diet, Exercise and Motivation.
On Diet, you need the most nutrient during this period. What you eat will determine your health and physics for the rest of your adulthood. That means, if you don’t slim down during this period, you are likely to get fat always in your adulthood. Also you will likely to be sick easily for the rest of your life. You need to have a balance diet with the correct food like protein, fats, vitamins, etc. (Ladies, if you eat too little, you are likely to have small breast and butt for life). Exercise is at this period, you are able to lose weight fast and develop your muscle too. Exercise every other day for 30 ~ 45 minutes, 3 times a week. Left one day for rest. Cardio exercise like jogging swimming, dancing, aerobics, etc are good to reduce fat fast. Lastly, is your will to slim down. You can all set goals to lose weight. But if you did not have the will or you left the goals unchecked. I used to be 185 lbs, I manage to lose weight to 125 lbs in a short time and maintain a healthy 133 lbs for many years.
