If I run for an hour a day for 10-12 weeks with diet can I lose 7-10 lbs?!

Question: If I run for an hour a day for 10-12 weeks with diet can I lose 7-10 lbs?
I just want to lose 6-10 lbs, I've done this before and lost 7 lbs over a 3-4 week running period of 5-6 days a week. I want to lose 10 pounds, but anything more would be nice too! lol Can I lose this weight in that time, if not more? Thanks

Diet: Fruits, vegetables, whole grain, things like that. water, exc. Basically all I'm taking in is around 1100 calories a day

Running 5 miles an hour for an hour would burn 700 calories. This would cut your intake of 1100 calories a day down to 400 calories. If you stayed on this diet for good and didn't die you would get down to about 30 to 35 pounds...

1lb of fat is equal to 3,500 calories, so to lose 10lb in 10 weeks, you need to burn (or cut out) 3,500 calories per week. If you're only consuming 1100 calories a day, then you definitely do not want to cut calories from your diet, so running is the best option. How much you burn in half an hour depends on your bodyweight and speed (check www.caloriesperhour.com), but assuming you run at a quick pace, you will be able to burn 500 calories in half an hour. If you do that for 7 days, then you've lost a pound. Bear in mind, you should take the occasional rest day and that increased exercise means increased appetite and need for 'fuel', so you will likely end up consuming more calories because you are exercising more. You just need to make sure that these aren't quick-fix calories. The run will be for nothing if you eat a couple of Snickers bars to replace the energy you've just burned!
Best of luck!

It is very likely; however, see if you can go two days. Set small goals, so you won't be disappointed. If, at this time and up until this moment, you have been doing nothing for your health, then a glorious goal is uplifting. Yet, it might not be realistic given the track record. If, on the other hand, you are quite fit and not overwieght by much, and quite used to going to the gym, then you are only amping up a regular routine. You will do fine.

You'll lose more than 7-10 pounds, you'll lose about like 20 pounds.

Yes. Good luck on that! :)

Definitely, it sounds like a reasonable plan.

I started running casually in July of last year and initially I dropped a lot of weight very quickly (around ten pounds) within a matter of four to five weeks. It depends how much you currently weigh, but at that time I was around 160 and worked my way to be 150 until at this point in time I'm at 135 (my goal weight).

There are going to be a lot of times when you're going to hit plateaus and feel as if your progress is going nowhere, as well as a lot of people initially think their plans are not working because they aren't losing weight as fast as they would like because they are beginning to build muscle at first.

Just keep in mind that anything worthy of having involves a genuine struggle and it's a lengthy process, but is well worth the fight. As for your diet, keeping sodas and carbonated beverages out of your diet should be your number one priority in that they deoxygenate your blood and are loaded with sugar as well.

Cut out the fried foods, fast foods, processed foods, etc. gradually or else you'll end up waking up and raging on all of the foods that you quit instantaneously and didn't GRADUALLY ease out of your diet.

Again, every process of losing weight is gradual: the increased performance in running, the increased health of your diet, and overall the increased health of your body.

Good luck.
