I'm not happy with how I look...?!


Question: I'm not happy with how I look...?
I'm 14 years old.. And I know I'm not fat. I know that. But I'm not satisfied. I've never been satisfied with my stomach. Underneath the breast area there is just access chubbiness and I HATE IT! How do I get it to go away? My legs are bigger than I'd like also.. I play volleyball in the fall.. And softball in the Summer, but other than that, I'm only active in P.E. at school... I stopped doing track because I am just not good at it at all. I'm not even comfortable with how my stomach look with a shirt on and I'm constantly sucking in so I look better..

I've tried to stick with work-outs but i never can. I don't have any motivation, or strive to want to do it. Running bores me a lot... And i don't know what to do with snow on the ground. We have a treadmill in the basement but I hate going down there all alone in the cold basement..

It doesn't help having a best friend that is as skinny as a twig either. She's constantly saying how she loves her stomach for some reason.. So therefore, I'm always comparing myself with her.
I'm kinda short. and my mom always told me as i got taller i would get slimmer but I'm not.

Like I said, I know I'm not fat, but I am in no way skinny. People say I am But that's because I hide it. I'm not one of those girls who say "I'm fat" and are like sooooooooo skinny.

What should I do?

i would suggest that you have a friend or family member encourage you to work out by being next to you the whole time. it is easier and more fun if you have a partner to work with.
maybe your diet needs a little bit of tweaking. make sure you are getting the right amount of each food group and you aren't eating too much.

You're not fat and you're not skinny, which makes you normal. Everyone has abit of fat on their stomachs, I'm a couple of years older than you, and I have that, it's totally normal.



This isn't going to help at all, I know - but you should be happy with how you are. Boys prefer your curvy, "not fat" figure to your friend's "skinny as a twig" figure. So if your build makes you more attractive (and trust me, it does), then why on earth are you worried about it?


ALSO - You cannot "hide it." If people call you skinny, then you don't have a problem. Your belly is supposed to have a layer of fat on it - you should have a few "rolls" when you sit down and hunch your shoulders. Trust me - you can't tell, because you are a girl. Girls aren't normally attracted to girls, so they are not always good judges of what is attractive.



Dude iknow how u feel I'm 13 and I'm not quite satisfied either but I know deep in side I'm pretty the best thing to do is to think of the positive side and if u want to lose a lol weight just eat every two hours with a normal meal and don't eat past 7:00 and I don't think u slwe should be worrying about our weight at this age :) don't worry

Personal experience



Try sit-ups, they're good to do if you want to tone your stomach. and why not put an electic heater down in your basement and get a friend or family member to go down there with you when you go on the tredmill from time to time. Please don't get obssesive with the way you look though and start dieting exsessively, I used to suffer from anorexia nervosa so I know what it's like to let this control you. I also had a friend who was very skinny and in the end, i was so jelous of her that i stopped being her friend. I realise now how foolish i was but it was what i needed to do at the time. Tell her how bad you feel about the way your stomach looks and tell her you'd appreciate it if she'd stop telling you how perfect she thinks her stomach is. Try not to worry so much, be happy.



i know exactly how you feel. if your reading my info you'll think im slim and healthy but i have a stomach. im 5"5' and 120lbs. im a girl as well and im 13. im constantly sucking my stomach in. my friends are all like " im jealous of you! don't worry about your stomach, your fine!" everything else on me is perfect and i love my body except my stomach. what you really need to do is look in the mirror and hold your belly to were you want it to be and then let go. i did that and it got me motivated quick as heck. i started looking at what i ate and only started eating when i was hungry. i think i was like 128 at my last physical like.... 2 months ago?. my stomach as gone down a bit im gonna start running and all other kinds of aerobics.
we can be email buddies, your the only person i know who knows how i feel! lol
