then reduce your calorie intake
For the whole month, keep the journal. write daily your weight and your goal weight keep track of your calorie intake try to eat lower calorie things and boost some extra cardio. those five pounds will be long gone.
Not everyone agrees that eating a lot of fruit is good for you.
Many fruits - e.g. apples, pineapple, and grapefruit contain a lot of fructose.
Fructose can not be directly used by your body - like an amino acid - it must be converted into glucose by your insulin.
Insulin stores glucose in your fat cells - which expand and contract based upon how much glucose is stored. Later - when you're exercising or when you're hungry your insulin takes the glucose out of your fat cells.
What happens - and what causes you to get fat - is that - when you're exposed to a lot of sugar (and one important sugar is fructose) your insulin becomes less effective at storing and fetching glucose from the fat cells. And the glucose stored in the cells morphs into fat.
Having said that - even if you cut out snacks and fruit - the effect of many years of eating sweets can't go away in a matter of weeks. If you cut out snacks and fruit it will be months before you body gets to a natural state where you're 5 pounds lighter.
If you're in a rush to lose weight you'll have to count calories - and you'll have to notch up your cardiovascular/aerobic rigorous exercise. (For example - note that marathon runners are always thin.) So yeah - if you're wanting to lose weight - the fastest way to do it is to jog it off - and you have to jog FAST - not just jog. Probably Lacrosse isn't as intense a workout as you need to have to see results.
