Answers:

Well, your problem mostly relies on you giving up. If you don't try, then it will not work.
Things to do that will help you:
1, eliminate all sodas and candy that you eat every day. Actually, just stop sodas, even diet sodas, and stick to water. I know water has no taste, and may suck, but after a while, you get used to it. And it is more refreshing.
2. add more vegetables in your diet.
3. Do not over eat, meaning that eat just enough to to take away your hunger, but don't eat until you are super full.
4. Just because you are a little hungry does not mean you have to eat, instead, get a drink of water, or snack on carrots or something... but the cup of water adds no calories. (actually, did you know, that sometimes when you feel hungry, you are actually thirsty?)
5. Avoid snacks if you can, and just eat meals, but eliminate the bad stuff. This does not mean that you cannot enjoy your favorite foods, you can eat them, just don't eat a lot of them.
6. Try to get in some exercise, walking is a good thing to do. It is easy and does not require a lot of stress, then maybe try to get some running in. Cardio exercise like jogging and walking should be done at least 30 minutes, and don't walk too slow. i would suggest at least an hour of fast paced walking.
7. DON'T GIVE UP
8. Setting a goal gives stress, and after the goal is met, people tend to just stop, so I recommend changing habits for the sake of better health, that may last longer if you keep that mindset.
9. Fast food is your enemy. Greasy foods are not good either, so try to avoid them, though, a burger every now and then won't hurt, just make sure not to get the Big Mac.

A little bit of math to help you out:
people gain weight because they input more calories than they use up, keep that in mind, so losing weight means that you are going to have to use more energy than you are eating for the time you are losing the weight. SO BUY MULTIVITAMINS to compensate for the nutrients you might lose by decreasing food consumption.

Another thing that might help out is if you normally do dormant activities, such as TV, computer or whatever, for the time you normally spend on it, try to get active and go outside and walk or jog. Don't over do it if you jog, so do it slowly, and keep pushing when you get tired, because the tiredness goes away, and you immediately start targeting the fat cells after 30 minutes, and bring enough water. Dehydration is not good.

In conclusion, you got to pretty much try to permanently change your habits.

Also, i read in a medical book once, that your body cannot create fat cells if your body is in motion, or not resting... meaning, if you have ADHD, it is harder to create the fatty tissue. So, maybe move your legs a bit while you sit down, though, it may look like you have anxiety, you are doing your body a favor.

I assume a person burns about 1500 calories per day, so try to eat about that, if you want to walk every day.
