How much can you lift?!
Question: How much can you lift?
Answers:
1. don't worry about what people on YA post about how much they lift
2. if you're going to measure the most common item people measure (for upper body) is bench press
3. bench press is measure by total weight...the bar weights 45 lbs and then you add up everything you add (if you're lifting at a real gym)
4. If you really need to compare yourself, compare yourself to others in your age range at your own gym where you workout
5. My max that I've done (on bench) is 315 for 8 reps. Currently (since my injuries) I am only back up to 295 (~8 reps at the most). But I've been working out for years
first of all, you're wasting your time checking out your max bicep curl weights.
You should be lifting for the main 3 (as they're called). the squat, bench press, and dead lift. This exercises recruit the most muscle tissue allowing for the most muscle and strength gain. of course you would add in some other exercises to these three, but these three should compose the core of your workouts (3x per week).
I've been lifting these lifts for the past 2.5 years. My bench press is 285x1, squat is 355x1, and dead lift is 425x1.
Good luck in your lifting and goals.
ps. I only train to stay in shape and be strong. I don't compete and my job doesn't demand physical activity.

a lot of my friends can bench(for example) somewhere around 150. I don't know if you bench or just curl but if you work at it you'll get better. If you haven't realized I'm a girl but I know this only because I talk to guys all the time and this is relevant because they've gotten better as they've gotten older and worked out more, so i hope I helped a little bit. Good Luck!
