It sure is possible but I'm sure you've heard that before. It's honestly about how to moderate your diet and get the essential nutrients. Just by controlling your diet you can definitely lose more weight. But to get the variety of nutrients, one of the most difficult things is to get the right menu.
By eating a variety of foods, you increase your metabolism to be able to burn the fat in your body without having to exercise as much. Of course the ideal combination is to have a good diet and exercise routine but it all starts with the right diet.

If you have a lot of extra muscle weight you don't mind sacrificing, then yes, you will loose weight by starving yourself no matter what you eat. After you've become flabby, and have no more to loose, then you will put on fat weight.

Bad idea. You only need 20-70 grams of carbs a day. All the foods you mention have a high glycemec index which will spike your blood sugar levels, causing insulin to rise, which will ultimately crash your metabolism. Once your cells become insulin resistant, you will start gaining fat again.

Your best bet is to find a good balance of Proteins, Fats and Carbs. You just don't need that many carbs.

Cut out processed carbs, which includes oatmeal and bread, among other things, such as sugar and corn syrup. Instead eat green vegetables (non-processed carbs) and lean protein.
