How much protien do i really need?!


Question: How much protien do i really need?
Okay so i googled all over and some sites tell you based on your weight that i need to intake 350 grams of protein some say 250 grams. One even said 180 grams.

I weight 240Lbs and im trying to build more muscle.

Im trying to eat more protein and les carbs.

I need help to actually figure out how much protein i need.

I drink supplements after my work out. Its like 50 grams of protein in my shake.

I have heard from several trainers and athleats that you need 1 gram of protein for each pound you weigh. so in your case, you need 240 grams of protein or close to that. Plz keep in mind that some protein shakes, especially one with 50grams a serving can be very high in calories so don't over due it. shakes are great but nothing beats a natural intake of chicken or fish.



2 grams per pound.

You're a big guy so 500 grams a day.
