Did I undereat on my diet?!


Question: Did I undereat on my diet?
I'm 16.
This morning I power walked/jogged 4 miles this morning for an hour.
Breakfast: High fiber cereal with a little bit of corn flakes with 1% milk and 1 banana
Lunch: 1 mini sausage (steamed/boiled), 2 pieces of baked chicken (they were like the size of hot wings so they were small), a little bit of mashed potatoes, and green beans
Snack: 2 Melba natural 100% whole wheat crackers with a little bit of Jiff natural peanut butter (it wasn't even a spoonful)
Dinner: Medium size salad with onions, pieces of chopped turkey, and a homemade dressing using extra virgin olive oil, spicy brown mustard, honey, and cajun seasoning and 1 whole wheat tortilla for the salad. And 3 Triscuits.
Then afterwards I power walked/jogged 1 mile cause I thought I over ate. But my mom said I'm starving myself and under ate. And now I feel bad :(
Did I or was my diet good?

Answers:

Your diet is fine, but for your age, I think you exercised too much! If you're going to exercise that much, you should eat more, because your metabolism rate will increase by a lot, and your fat will be burnt for energy at a high rate.

If you want to keep the amount of food you ate like that, try to exercise less. Maybe cut down to about 3 miles in the morning and the 1 mile is fine for the evening. (:

That's far from starving yourself. I actually think you ate really healthy today so good job! That said though you probably didn't eat enough with how much exercise you do. I don't know how tall you are or how much you weigh but with your age and exercise regime, your daily calorie needs are easily around 2000-2200 calories a day. You definitely didn't take in that much today (though it's hard to know for sure since we don't know what serving sizes you had for sure.)
So in short, is your diet healthy? yes. Do you need to eat more? probably yes.
