You shouldn't try to lose five pounds a week if you're going for the long-term weight loss.

However, here are a few really good tips I picked up and lost tons of weight by doing so:
-Eat complex carbohydrates in the morning, and lean proteins in the evening. (Complex carbs are fruits, whole grains, and vegetables; lean proteins are fat-free egg substitutes--regular eggs are very fatty--, and meats that are at least 98% fat free).

-Try to limit your fat intake. Fat contains a whopping 9 calories per gram, whereas proteins and carbohydrates contain only 4. So, yes, low-fat diets do in fact work. Cutting back fat cuts major calories, lowers cholesterol, and thus improves your overall cardiovascular health. However, don't be afraid of nuts: they have poly and mono unsaturated fats, which are good. Just avoid trans and saturated!

-You HAVE to exercise. Don't spend your time on Google looking up ways to lose weight without exercise like I did. It's hopeless; once I actually started exercising is when I shed the pounds. Start slow if you must, such as walking two or so miles or doing light yoga. That's how I began. Then pick it up; I'm now running 5 miles a day and doing 55 minutes worth of strength training without getting tired. It's great!

-Also, follow the "dieting basics" everyone knows: no refined carbs like cake, pizza, white bread, white rice, cookies, pasta, etc., no fried foods like crispy chicken or French fries, and especially no fast foods. (Did you know that the McDonald's chicken nugget is only 44% chicken? Gross.)

-

that is not possible unless you become an anorexic, or healthy. Cut out all sweets, greasy, and fattening foods for atleast a month + exercise and you should lose 5-6 lbs

Any weigh loss plan that makes you lose more than two pounds a week is considered dangerous.

That's too risky. Stick to eating right and exercising, and you'll see results. Don't do it all at once. It's dangerous.

Any weigh loss plan simply made yourself - get outta here!
