How do I get a smaller, more defined waistline?!

Question: How do I get a smaller, more defined waistline?
I want to go from a 25" waist to a 22" or 23". I know more than likely, I will lose weight all over, but I don't want to lose too much. I want to get a more defined waist. My waist has a little definition but not as much. Can anyone help? What can I do? Any advice?! I'm desperate...

Answers:

Fat loss will help slim down your waist. In terms of doing specific exercises you need to be more careful. Exercises that target muscles make them bigger, so sit-ups will not help you make your waist smaller. There is one muscle that can help you. It's called the transversus abdominis and acts as a girdle or corset. It pulls you in and provides support. Do exercises to strengthen this muscle to help pull you in and shrink your waistline.

An exercise targeting the transversus abdominis is abdominal hollowing.

Here's an exercise from seventeen magazine...
a. Lie flat one your back with your legs together and straight up in the air, perpendicular the floor.
b. Slowly lower your legs to the left, then use abs to bring legs back to start. Repeat to the right.

I works wonders.
