Going to the gym when you have a cold...?!

Question: Going to the gym when you have a cold...?
I havent been sleeping regularly lately so took a sleeping tablet last night, feel a bit weak this morning, have a terribly sore throat. Do you still think its wise to go to the gym?

Answers:

depends on what you do when you get to the gym. A simple walk on a tread mill would probably be ok just as long as you don't over do it. Running long distances, sprinting, and heavy lifting might not be such a good idea if you are sick. The immune system needs to focus on killing the pathogen making you sick, and not on making repairs to damaged muscle, and recuperation from a strenuous work out. Thats just the way it is for me though

I wouldn't, but I'm more cautious than a lot of people about not wanting to pass on sickness germs to others. Since you will touch many surfaces at the gym, you could pass it on.

I would just do some exercises at home instead.
