Sugar intake - should I be scared?!

Question: Sugar intake - should I be scared?
I sometimes buy sugary strawberry laces from the shop; 3 packs usually. I eat two packs, which have a sugar level of 14.9g per 1/3 of pack. I don't eat them often, though.

I'm scared I'm going to gain diabetes or some other form of illness from the amount of sugar in these.

Any help/facts about this, and should I be scared?

Answers:

Well, first of all, you shouldn't be scared - it isn't going to do you any good. Type 2 diabetes is related to obesity and high consumption of sugar. It's ok to indulge yourself a little bit, but don't overdo it. Some sugars are healthier than others like the sugar found in fruits. You can replace fruit for many of the snacks that you eat.
