Why do people say i need to eat around 1500 calories?!


Question: Why do people say i need to eat around 1500 calories?
When i take one of those online tests it says around 2200 but everyone says the average is around 1500!
Please help clear this up!

1500 calories is for non active people who are not growing. When you're both of those things, it's a double whammy, so you should be eating 2200-2500.



I'm estimating your BMR is probably around 1400 and then accounting for activity level (moderate in your case) multiply this number by 1.55 and you have a maintenance figure of 2170 so 2200 is right on the money.



Your fine at 120. Thats what I was. Im 15 now and 140.
