I want to start weight lifting, where do I start?!

Question: I want to start weight lifting, where do I start?
How many reps and sets should I do for different muscle groups? Is it okay If just use dumbbell press for my chest, i don't have a spotter at the gym, On dumbbells should I do incline, and decline, and flat, when should I switch it up, how many sets and reps for each.

Tips before I start?

Answers:

the aim is to train each muscle once a week...
trianing sessions lasting 40-60 mins
go for reps of 6-8
select 4 different exercises per muscle
4 sets each

yes work the chest at different angles.. if u dont have a spotter.... do the universal smith machine where u can latch the bar on by rolling it

do flat, incline, decline
and add a dumbell exercise in the mix

switch it up every 5-6 weeks.. by taking out 1- 2 exercises and adding another in

mon chest
tue biceps triceps
wed back
thur shoulders
fri legs

The truth is ... Truth,

You will have to get in a gym and they will tell you all you need to start.

Lot of ppl here can generously post what you should do, but you would be
perplex with so much information.

In the gym, they will tell you what to do, and you will have time to understand
the why of on Mondays do chest and triceps, and Wed. do Back and biceps.

But go, start it in a gym, in safe mode. Starting a home is not bad, but still,
you have bigger chances to get it doing also some bad, building up injuries that
will be revealed later in life.

go to the gym.

Good luck,

be truth to yourself.

You can try finding a local gym/fitness place. You can find an instructor to teach you how to work out.

At the gym....ha ha ha
