5'6 130 pounds and........................?!

Question: 5'6 130 pounds and........................?
I have very muscular legs and arms. I run, eat healthy. My BMI says I'm at the 70% ( less than 5% underweight, more than 80 percent overweight) level of height and weight for my age. But I am not fat at all. I only wear size 0 or 2. Does anyone else have a high BMI and yet not fat? Is it normal? I'm 14 almost 15 btw.

Answers:

That's totally normal. My BMI says overweight and I'm a fit person that works out two to three hours a day and eats healthy.

BMI is bullshit. I don't know why anyone uses it anymore. Here's one more example: I'm on a small team in the army that works out constantly and keeps fitness as a huge priority. The army uses BMI to see if you're overweight. However, you can also get "taped" to get your measurements because BMI is known to be a poor indicator for athletic people. I think four of the six of us came in "overweight" but all of us passed tape with flying colors.

That's completely normal. The muscle you have often adds weight. BMI does not account for muscle mass and build. I don't have it personally, seeing as I'm underweight, but my brother does. His BMI is high, but he just has a large build and a lot of muscle. My brother's BMI actually puts him overweight, but he is not due to all his mucsle. A LOT of muscle.

Wow thats pretty awsome! Im 5 feet and 105 lbs and ill be turning 14 soon. Ur doin pretty good if u ask me =)
