Did I eat good on my diet today?!

Question: Did I eat good on my diet today?
I'm trying to lose 20 pounds..
This is what I had today.

Meal 1: hard boiled egg and grapes

Meal 2: homemade trail mix with peanuts, raw almonds, and raisins, almond milk

Meal 3: tuna salad made with mustard and a fruit smoothie made with berries and almond milk

Meal 4: orange and half a bag of 100 calorie popcorn(bad I know)

Meal 5: salad with carrots, hard boiled egg, and olive oil&vinegar dressing, vegetarian refried beans

Meal 6: half a serving of oatmeal with a drizzle of honey

I worked out for 30 minutes on the tred climber and burned around 250 calories
My net calories for the day was around 1450-1500. I'm 5'2, so should I cut back my calories more?

Answers:

Hi,

well done on your good nutrition. Still, if I was in your shoes, my focus would not be calorie counting. Instead, I would ensure I eat plenty of raw, enzyme rich, energy rich living foods.

It is good that you had a number of small meals throughout the day. That way you've kept your metabolism going.

For exercise purpose, let me tell you how I would have modified your menu:

Meal 1 - I would have eaten grapes only. They are living water rich, nourishing and cleansing food. If you felt you had to eat boiled egg for protein, ensure you eat it at least 20-30 minutes after consuming the grapes. Never before.
Meal 2 - soak your almonds overnight to break down enzyme inhibitor then mix it with raisins. A generous handful of the mix is usually sufficient as an energy snack.
Meal 3 - separate tuna salad and the smoothie into 2 meals or at least consume the two 30 minutes apart, with the smoothie being consumed first. Berry smoothie with almond milk is great meal.
Meal 4 - Orange is fine. Pop corn as a treat is ok, as long as it is an occasional treat.
Meal 5 - how about adding green leafy veg, ie rocket lettuce, spinach, lambs lettuce, romaine, also cucumber and avocado to your salad? Olive oil, lemon and Herbamare (natural sea salt with veggie infusion) as a dressing is excellent. Your own veggie burgers then dry them on the lowest heat in the oven for 1-2 hrs to preserve enzymes and other nutrients will be healthier alternative to re-fried beans.
Meal 6 - its ok.

You have a very good understanding of nutrition and what the body needs. Introduce little more fresh fruit and veg, fruit smoothies and juices into your daily menu and counting calories will become needless.

All the best.

Own knowledge and experience.

during a cutting phase it is recommended to take 500 calories less than your daily required calories. You can get a calorie calculator from the net (use google). I'd say get rid of the egg yolks and instead of taking oat meal once a day, break it down in to two meals with the same amount of oat meal. And increase amount of protein intake, add some chicken to the diet.

You did quite good.. if you want to cut back even more try egg white omelets instead of a hard boiled egg... and at dinner instead of a hard boiled egg have a chicken brest or some fish... i would stay away from oatmeal at night tho.. the most carbs should be in the morning and daytime..

Oh my gosh! Thank god your not one of those girls who eats like 600 calories a day! but anyways that is a good goal, and burning off calories are good too, so you should lose weight, keep going on that!

Wow that is a really good diet sounds super healthy, you should keep it up!

It sounds to me like you did very well.
