How is a higher carb diet bad for weight loss if it worked? low carb? 10 points?!

Question: How is a higher carb diet bad for weight loss if it worked? low carb? 10 points?
My best fried lost about 22lbs eating a low calorie high carb diet. (about 1000-800 calories) Shes a vegetarian so doesnt get much protein, she ate lots of fruits and some vegetables but ate lots of foods like special k cereal, fiber one bars and yogurt like dannon and flavored greek yogurt. Shes now 5'4" 106 lb so shes realllly skinny looking. Took about 6 months for her to do this, she lost like 15 lbs in the first 3 months though. Exercised once in a while but had a semi busy lifestyle.

She didnt eat low carb and got really skinny, So how can you explain that high carb diets dont work?

I am 5'2" 114 lbs and would like to get down to 100 lbs.. Should i go the carb route or low carb route? Im not a vegetarian and am 20% body fat. By the way were both 16 year old females

Answers:

Low carb and high carb calorie-cutting BOTH work. However if she were to do it low carb, she would have lost the 22 pounds WAY faster than 6 months. I can't explain how they both work, but there is a study that says low-carbers are more satisfied with their diets and stick with it longer than calorie-counters. Also cutting carbs lowers your appetite so you don't feel hungry or deprived all the time.

I do low-carb, on February 1st I weighed 150 pounds, and today I weigh 136.5 (I'm 5'3") so I lost 13.5 pounds in a little over a month and a half. I don't exercise AT ALL.

6 tips for you.

1. Drink water

2. Eat regularly

3. Eat lots of fibre

4. Consume more good fats

5. Get plenty of quality protein

6. Carbohydrates can help you lose weight

Good Luck and Take care :-)

You know as soon as I reached my 25th birthday, it seemed like someone flipped a switch, before then I could eat any food I wanted, and still keep my six pack abs, then all of a sudden I started to get that middle age spread.

By the time I turned 30, I was over 30 pounds overweight. As a new years resolution, in my 30th year, I pledged that i would lose that weight, for the next 7 years I was able to renew that vow, and it wasn't because of all the *** I was kicking on a program.

Every method I tried, I failed at. I tried diet pills, carb deprivation and some of the meal plans. Nothing worked. Then I found a website, with some free information that caught my attention, 3 months later, I was back to my college graduation weight. I have kept the weight off for over two years and I couldn't be more pleased with my condition. Maybe the diet can help you as well. So check out the link and give it a shot.
