Should I eat first or exercise first then eat later?!

Question: Should I eat first or exercise first then eat later?
If I exercise first, how long should I wait until I can get something to eat?

I'm about to do 2 and half hours of intense exercise to make up for not exercising this week.

Do you think it's advisable for a 15 year old girl?

Answers:

Two and a half hours of intense exercise is not advisable, however if you insist, i would say exercise then eat after, as after you eat you will be too tired to get up and exercise, and also if you exercise first you will be looking forward to the food afterwards :) and for a 15 year old girl it is really bad to exercise for that long, as you metabolism is already really high as a teenage girl so you will burn of what you eat quickly anyway .

Definitely make sure you eat BEFORE you exercise so that your body has some energy for the workout, but make sure you allow your body time to digest. If you eat a light meal, wait about 2 hours before working out. If you eat a heavy, protein-filled meal wait about 4 hours before working out.

Also, a 2.5 hour intense workout isn't the best way to make up for not working out all week. Working out is about doing it routinely, not in spurts. Just do a normal workout today and resolve to workout more regularly this week.

Depends on what exercise you intend to do!
Muscular strength and endurance training, yes! Have a pre-meal containing carbs 30 mins before training then eat another after exercise! Try eat foods with protein in aswell to repair the muscle quicker!
If your exercise is swimming for example, i would eat 1-2 hours in advance packed with high carbs so you full of energy :) hope this helps

If you exercise first, you will speed up your metabolism which is a good thing before you eat. However, don't become so ravenous that you end up over-eating.

Slacking off and then working twice as hard to make up for it is not the way to go. Make exercise part of your daily routine.

I think you should eat first then wait at least 15-20 minutes because if you do excercise you lose weight then you eat and then you get a little bit more heavier, so eat then exercise!
Hope this helps/x!

Hey, eat first an hour to an hour half before you work out :)
it will give you more energy and eat an hour or so after your work out.

A little something before. And 25mins after you've finished. And 2hours in one go no I don't think it is advisable. I'd say a hour would do.

in my opinion, i think you should consult with a trainer at a gym so that they can give you a better answer.
