How will a 'No Sugar Diet' change my body in a matter of weeks/months?
Avoiding refined sugars that is, sometimes if I'm ever craving for sugar i'll maybe snack on a fruit if thats exceptional but besides that, I'll be avoiding all sugars and eating mostly vegetables, nuts, etc. How would my body look and what would be going on in my body? Like will body fat burn easier, etc? Thanks

And another question, is it okay to have one day a week to eat a lot of sugar/junk food? Like on a saturday? Would that effect this diet in any way?

I'm 15, 5'2, 113 pounds.

Hi,
it is good idea to avoid sugar as it robs your body of your energy and some essential nutrients, in addition to affecting your mood and concentration. Apart from the taste, there is no nutrients in sugar, so choosing to load your body once a week with it and other junk will largely spoil all your other efforts to keep your diet healthy and neat.

If you stop eating sugar and carry on eating processed foods loaded in saturated fats, synthetic additives etc your body will not change much. However, if you or your parents can prepare proper dishes using fresh ingredients, in addition to eating lots of fresh fruit, salads, steamed veg and drinking lots of water in addition to a decent activity levels you will notice change even in your first week. Your mood will stabilize, your digestion will improve and your stomach will start getting smaller. As you carry on into 2nd and 3rd week, you will notice weight loss. It should be even, meaning that you will not lose weight from one body part only, so the scale will start showing the results of your efforts.

To help you get some ideas of healthy meals, ensure that you eat fresh salad with your meals, that you snack on fruit (banana, blueberries, apples, oranges, also nuts such as almonds and hazelnuts), that you do not eat too much meat or meals that are shop-packaged and require to go into the oven. Simple grilled fish with some fresh green salad or jacket potato with tuna filling and some sliced tomatoes and cucumbers or fresh home-made soup with a slice of wholemeal bread etc are all ideas for a simple meal. For breakfast you can have Danone plain yoghurt with banana in it, or a bowl of fresh fruit or fruit smoothie.

Hope this info gives you some ideas...

All the best.

I went on a "No-Sugar" diet, and it made me lose 14 pounds, in a matter of months.

I definately wouldnt reccomend it though, why? Because after that, i didnt lose any more. And as soon as i got off the diet, i ate better than before, but gained 50 pounds after.

My doctor even told me it wasnt healthy. So just stick to eating "not as many" carbs as you did before, and youll be fine. Youre definately not heavy for your weight.
