i have an eating disorder, what type of eating disorder is it called?!

Question: I have an eating disorder, what type of eating disorder is it called?
since i was little and i'm thin, its only because i eat little and slow.
i really really wanna gain weight but i dont eat enough calories, i took contraceptive pills it increased my appetite so i gain some weight because at that time i was eating alot.
my doctor said i have an eating disorder because i'm so obsessed about my weight, my bmi i used to be 16.4, but then i lost weight because i had depression it went down to 13.7, but now its better its 15.4,
if i force my self to eat more i vomit, and i hate vomiting because it makes me lose weight.
i weigh my self at least 5 times a day, but the last 2 days my doctor asked me to weigh my self once every week only, so i putted the scales away.
all the times i compare my body to other girls, i ask them all the times how much do i look like i weigh, all the times i think of how i can gain weight , i go on websites, but when i see food infront of me i dont eat alot, i only eat when i'm hungry,

Answers:

I feel so sorry for you, you have no appetite, but you want to gain weight, at the same time you purge, so anorexia, ednos and bulimia. I hope you get better!!

the two types that i know are anorexia nervosa = person does not eat at all and bulimia = puking after eating, but usually tose people eat a lot of food and then puke.
since you sound extremely skinny i would say you have anorexia, u seem to avoid eating also. people who have bulimia have a normal weight like everyone else, anorexics tend to be very skinny.

You are obviously anorexic because of all the things you listed is almost text book signs and symptoms. If I understand you right, you dont force yourself to throw up? You just vomit if you eat too much but you are not making that happen. Please stop obsessing about your weight, you need help. Listen to your doctor and please get some psychiatric therapy as well.

med. backround

no one on Y!A can officially diagnose you. but you definitely sound like you have anorexia (loss of appetite) or anorexia nervosa. and a bmi of 15 is NOT good. you need to get help. please. before its too late. i dont mean to scare you, but this is exremely serious. you should check yourself into inpatient and get some therapy and talk to people that could help you. best of luck.

vomiting after you eat is called Bulimia nervosa or just Bulimia.

Get real help, you could die.

I would say bulimic, but also a little anorexic.

Most likely bulimia. You should get help before it turns really serious. I hope this helps and good luck!

bulimia

I have a few suggestions:

Take some ginger root---non-irradiated, from the health food store---1/2 an hour before eating. Be careful not to take too much. Take one dose with water. Then try eating *just a bit* more than usual.
(Ginger both aids digestion, & is effectively used to prevent nausea & motion sickness.)

If that doesn't do the trick, you might try some inexpensive acupressure bracelets. There are more than one brand---I suggest trying the kind with a covered bead AND adjustable band. (Those with expanding bands may be less effective---they say you must wear two at the same time, one on each wrist): Do a Web-search for < acupressure nausea bracelet >.

Bulimia is when a person forces them-self to vomit after eating,
and they often gorge themselves with huge amounts of food, first.

Anorexia is when one eats very little food in the first place.
From your description, it sounds like you have anorexia, and possible a digestive disorder as well.
Perhaps the vomiting is strictly from psychological causes, but it might also be related to something not working right in your digestive system. That is why I suggest trying ginger root, and acupressure bracelets. They have been reported to help with morning sickness, as well as nausea caused by chemotherapy treatments.

ANOTHER suggestion: regularly eat healthy & high calorie between meal snacks. Something like a large baked potato &/or carrots with onions---or a few pieces of whole-grain toast--- with lots of butter or non-hydrogenated margarine, on it. In other words, eat more often than just 3 times daily . . . Eat 6 times daily, instead.
