Question: Teenager wanting to lose weight!!!help!!?
I'm a 13 year old girl, 5ft 6in tall, and anywhere from 170-180 pounds(it changes...) I have my problems, this is one of them. I need to lose this weight because of several things like a) i look stupid when I'm out of breath by speed-walking in the hallway(not that I care if I look stupid) b) I'm the second slowest in gym class, but I don't ever stop to walk c) I want to learn to dance, I hear it's hard to do when your thicker. Some people even told me to because I'm a musician~ they tell me I'm special, but I don't believe them, and if I wanna be famous it'd help. So I've tried everything under the sun to lose weight, but the lowest I"ve gotten to is 164, and I have obviously gained it all back. I just need help, I have no equipment but my mom's weights to use. My mom has a treadmill, but I'm not allowed to touch it lol. I do have a bike, I have 3 basketballs, a jumprope, volleyball, baseballs, bats, and a tennis raquet/balls. How could I mix some exercises up? How much should I eat a day at my size to lose weight? oh and i'm close to having diabetes. high blood pressure runs on my mom's side of family, her mom, uncle, grandmother, and sister have it, but she doesn't. my grandma actually passed out from it, same with my greatgrandma. I've tried every diet, regular old exercise, and just eating what a normal person should. i want to get to 120 or 130lbs. ~forgot to say those before sorry.:P

Ok first off: Im so proud of you for wanting to make a change and trying to commit to it.

I know that trying to lose weight especially when your a teen is hard.

Just do this. Tell yourself, look in the mirror and tell yourself to eat less, (Healthier) Just relpace snacks in your house with better stuff! Look at the calories and fat grams on your food when ou go snack shopping for school. Dont buy junk!

Then, just spend 10 minutes a day jumproping. Then the next day ride your bike around the neighborhood. Little stuff can make a difference.

When your eating- Think. If I take another bite will I regret it later? If your stuck. Dont take the bite. It might be a little hard. But then you'll start eating less.

1. Eat less. When you accomplish this:
2. Eat healthier. and excercise.

Always!!!!: have two water bottles in your backpack. Finish both at school.

wow that sounds tough. Now even though you're quite big it doesn't mean its harder to dance. If you love to dance then you should, but if you don't please don't hurt yourself. I'm also a musician and i love to dance :] but i still weight about 120 :/ and it looks like i'm about to weight 130... SO just eat healthy! eat lots of fruits and vegtables, drink lots of water. And exercise! Since you have so many sport equipments you should use it to loose weight! You should be exercising for about 30 minutes and under 1 hour :] Don't eat Junk foods, just have a little each day :]

I've been doing this diet for one month and have lost 8 pounds already! It's definitely not that hard and I think it's manageable.
-Eat less than 1,000 calories a day.
-Drink a full glass of water before you eat any meal so you eat less and still feel full.
-Eat at least 2 fruits a day (an apple, and a banana)
-Cut back on all junk food and plan 3 MEALS in a week where you can eat whatever you want.
-Walk at least 40 minutes a day.
-Do several sets of lunges, squats, and stretches.
-Try to sleep at least 8 hours a day.
-Don't sit down RIGHT AFTER you eat instead just stand or move around for a while and watch TV.
-Eat lots of vegetables and LEAN meats that aren't too oily.
-If you must have a snack eat something healthy like low fat yogurt, crackers, etc.

I hope this helped or gave you an idea, but it really worked for me :DI'm 15 I've gone from 115 to 107 so far! I'm REALLY short so yeah :P And since you have a lot of sports equipment do any one of those for at least 45 a day + the walking and you'll see great results!
