am i doing everything right?!


Question: Am i doing everything right?
hi i am 15 years old, 153 pounds (well the last time i weighed my self 2 months ago), and 5 foot 3 inches. i am trying to lose weight and i have been eating 1200-1650 calories a day, and exercising almost every day this week (i just started this) and lifting weights and doing cardio. i have cut out all sauces, juices, and desserts. i have been eating fruits and vegetables and healthy food. i have also been eating smaller portions. i have my period and i got it when i was 13 so i may still be growing. how long do you think it will take me to lose 15 pounds? am i doing everything right? since i may still be growing, is it safe to lose weight right now? thanks :)

Answers:

You are doing everything right.
Remember, when you do strength training, allow a day of rest for those muscles. On days of rest, you just do cardio, or else strength train a different area of the body. The point is not to strength train the same muscles two days in a row.

You can do cardio every day if you want.

Don't attempt to cut all sauces and desserts-- just use them in moderation. Cutting them out totally will make you feel deprived and inclined to "cheating" on your diet.

I'm proud that you are making the effort! Once you lost 15 pounds, you may find that you want to continue exercising to maintain or else keep losing weight. Don't think of what you are eating now as temporary, think of it as how you will eat from now on.
