Well, try eating nuts instead of sugar, it will reduce the cravings in the long run. Almonds, cashews, pecans - all have carbohydrates so it would satisfy that need and not make your blood sugar spike. Sweets at night really isn't a good idea, it will keep you from sleeping as well as other issues.
I love trail mix and I found a great one that satisfies sweet and healthy. It's a trail mix with almonds, cranberries, raisins, macadamia nuts, and bits of dark chocolate. Even the dark chocolate is good for you as it has antioxidants.
