Are digital scales inaccurate? (10 points)?!
Question: Are digital scales inaccurate? (10 points)?
I bought a new digital scale about a year ago. Normally I avoid weighing myself (maybe a couple of times a month!) but I've been weighing myself more recently since I'm on a diet. The weight is always inconsistent. I get on once, it tells me I'm 10 stone 7 pounds, then I'm 10 stone 10 pounds, then 10 stone 8 - and this is all in the space of a minute. It's not that much of a difference I know, but when you're trying out a new diet you want to see if it's working and I can't tell with these scales. They're made by weight watchers I think, and they weren't cheap. I've had them about a year.
Thanks for responding :)

You should do a Consumer Report check up on the internet before you buy a scale. Scales are pretty complicated gadgets and buying the best one is crucial.
Here's a web review on digital scales...

If it helps any, I always go to almost any Dialysis clinic ( I'm not a Dialysis patient ) and I ask the nurses there if I can weight myself and they are always very helpful. The scales that are used in Dialysis clinics are very state-of-the-art Nasa type of technology and are always 100% accurate.
my advice is to place the scales on a hard floor , one with no carpet , always try to stand in the main area of the scales , not on a corner or edge.
I know that electronic , digital scales can be amazingly accurate but they need to be used carefully.
I would say they are after awhile. I bought one myself and ill get on and itll say 188.4 then 186.2 and 189.3 just jumping all over the place. But I'd probably look for a plug in scale if posssible so the current will be consistant.

your bathroom floor might be a touch unlevel so i would buy a left handed spirit level to check this out - make sure the bubble is dead center - if its out then find another place and check that until its perfect, good luck...
The batteries do stop working after awhile making them inaccurate
hi, I had a diet trouble for so long that it seemed hopeless. I used to take all kinds of pills. Till I stumpled upon these tips, I had my doubts at first. there was a bit of improvement for the first 2 weeks, but I was feeling good about myself. After losing that first bit of weight, which was great for my confidence, I started eating right to keep off the weight completely. I can't remember that last time I was this light. I hope I've provided good information: http://proloseweightnetwork.tk
