Answers:

Water does not directly help burn calories. Neither does it directly speed metabolism. It does, however, provide essential oxygen to the blood. This is equivalent, symbiotically, to a blood thinner.

When the body is dehydrated, the blood becomes thicker, making its flow difficult. When the body is well hydrated, ontheotherhand, the blood flows a lot better. You body also makes many other chemical reactions a whole lot better when hydrated, such as brain activity. Don't get me wrong, even though water does not directly effect metabolism, it is still a very important part of your diet.

The myth of the Water Diet is that if you drink cold water, your body will burn more calories heating up the water up to normal body temperature. However, because an individual's body metabolism is more genetically regulated, their metabolism may not increase enough to supplement a workout program. Especially, sitting down. The water diet works better by "decreasing your appetite," according to Mara Z. Vitolins, R.D., Dr. P.H., assistant professor of public health sciences (epidemiology) at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center.

Additionally, most individuals drink sodas and other high calorie beverages. Drinking water reduces the number of calories you take in. As a result, you come closer to your goal of daily calorie intake. As a result, you loose weight.

Hope this answers your question!

I think studies have shown that a bottle of water does increase metabolism for a short period, but it's nothing too significant. You'd probably burn more calories walking to the bathroom.

However, drinking water while dieting can help. Drinking a big glass of water before a meal will make you feel full faster. You'd end up consuming less food.

Not exactly. It keeps your body flushing out toxins and waste that can keep your body from doing what it's supposed to, but does not help burn calories. It is very good for you though, keep it up, and make sure you are taking vitamins so you aren't flushing out all the good stuff with the bad.
