is it normal to loose 5 lbs in one day?!

Question: Is it normal to loose 5 lbs in one day?
and it is accurate, i weighed myself in the morning yesterday and today.

Answers:

It's not normal by any means but it is possible to lose that amount in water weight. The most you could probably lose is 3 pounds of fat if you drank water only and a did 20 hour workout. Remember 3,500 calories = 1 pound and your talking 17,500 calories which is unrealistic when it comes to 'normal' weight loss.

The most I've ever loss was 11 pounds in 24 hours when I was going through Hell night simulation for Navy SEAL training, but that was mainly water loss, I ended up losing about 2-3 pounds after the smoke cleared. To give you a picture of how intense the body must be pushed for those pounds, we did 20 hours of physical torture.

Sure. Body weight can fluctuate by several pounds within one day. If you want to track your weight, keep records for several weeks and track the trends over time. Variation from one day to the next is usually insignificant. Changes in average weight over a period of weeks tend to represent actual weight gain or loss.

Well, if anyone loses 5 lbs in a day that is just water weight. You cannot lose 5 lbs of fat in one day, its just not possible. It happens to me sometimes too, I will just randomly gain or lose a bunch of weight and its just water weight.

It's possible in a number of ways: if you lost an arm, leg, a ton of blood, etc, but you more than likely just lost a lot of water weight. It isn't actual fat or anything that you lost.
