What does 1 set of 3 to 10 reps means?!

Question: What does 1 set of 3 to 10 reps means?
I'm trying out this exercising book for woman that I bought at a garage sale called "Banish Your Belly, Butt & Tights Forever" However it is an old book, copyright in 2000, but the exercising moves in their still looks pretty effective to try out. Some of the moves included: Curl-Ups, Pelvic-Tilts, Hip Raises, Crunches with Knees Up Spread...etc.

Intensity Levels Are:
--Beginners: 1 set of 3 to 10 reps, 3 days per week
--Intermediates: 2 sets of 10 reps, 3 days per week
--Experienced: 3 or 4 sets of 10 reps, 3 or 4 days per week

I'm doing the beginners of course for 30 days, and I have no clue what 1 set of 3 to 10 reps means. I know that reps means repetition. So I'm guessing do I do a certain move 3 to 10 times?

Answers:

you do the exercise for 3 "reps" or repetitions (basically if it's a sit up, you do it 3 times) and 1 set is 1 set of 3 times.
2 sets of 3 reps would be 6 total sit ups.

Yeah it is saying do one certain move 10 times in a row. So for beginners just do it 3 to 10 times 3 days a week. For the intermediate it wants you to do it 10 times then take a small break(couple minutes) then do the move again 3 days a week
