Question: I weigh 5'3 and 88 pounds. Am I a healthy weight or am I still underweight?
I am a recovering anorexic. Three months ago I was at my all time low 5'3 and 59 pounds. I almost died. Now I have gained nineteen pounds I am looking a lot healthier, but I want to reach a healthy weight again.

I would, firstly, like to congratulate you on your recovery. I know it can be an extremely difficult mental and physical struggle, and I am so glad you are taking initiatives to get better; HEALTHY.

And secondly, 88 lbs is still dangerously underweight for your height. I am 5'1" 16 and I weight 97 lbs or so, and my doctor says that I'm underweight by about 10 lbs.

Your ideal weight should be around 115 lbs. Make sure you're eating 3 veg and 2 fruits a day ( at least ) with lean proteins and lots of dairy :) ( you don't need to worry about the dairy being low fat if you're recoverying; cottage cheese is an excellent source of protein, as is greek yogurt! )
Also, make sure you're getting enough fat in your diet. Try to snack on foods like nuts, peanut butter, beans, and use olive oil in cooking instead of butter to make sure you're getting healthy fats.

I wish you the best in this experience :) I hope you realize that it's what's inside that counts, and that there will always be somebody who will love you, no matter how you see yourself!



errr. I feel like that's still too skinny. I think a 95-96 lbs girl would still be pretty damn skinny for that height. another 7 lbs can't hurt. Just start lifting weights if you aren't and put on some muscle. You can keep your figure and gain a few healthy pounds!!! :-) Good luck.



I'm 5'1.5" and weigh 96 lbs so maybe you should weigh around 96 lbs. I'm glad you are recorvering and I hope you get better! (I am a healthy weight)



you are still underweight, you should easily be like 105 lbs to be a healthy weight.



How old are you? I think you should be at least 100 pounds.



Yeah your under weight umm eat more fatty foods but still exersise and you will feel better
