Why do people exaggerate their height? I mean I measure myself on those health m!

Question: Why do people exaggerate their height? I mean I measure myself on those health machines barefoot that is...?
accurate. I hate it when people say 'I'm like 5'11 or 6ft when they're actually 5'8 - 5'9.
Anybody else weigh/measure height on those health machines in Boots or shops?

Answers:

I have no clue. I mean, why lie? Its what you are!

This is all psychological. Interesting how people exaggerate (lie) and extend a whole lot of facts in their lives other than just height, except for weight anyway. Since someone is telling someone else this exaggeration, it would serve to say they care to an extent what others think of them, to where they are willing to lie for it, so they deal with an insecurity issue. They want approval from others, maybe even a brief moment of extra attention for their exceptional (exaggerated) prowess. I am 6ft (no exaggeration) and so I know a lot of shorter friends, and most all of them say how much a difference a few inches makes. I myself think there's more to myself than just my height. =)

because people are very idiotic
