I have 3 rolls of fat!!?!


Question: I have 3 rolls of fat!!?
When I sit down and lean forward, I have 3 rolls of fat. But my BMI says that I'm underweight!!! I'm 5 foot 1 and I weigh 95 pounds and I'm 13 years old...sooo am I fat????? Is that alot or is it normal??

even very skinny catwalk models have what looks like rolls of fat when leaning forward and sitting. it is body's way of allowing the tissue to move. (imagine what it would be like if were as stiff as cardboard?)
you are by no means overweight given that data. if you feel you are overweight then you need to seriously think about chatting to parents and doctor as many young folk can get mental hangups with weight and always feel overweight Even when down to skin and bones ( folk have died eating too little and still insisting they were well over weight)



You sound like a current and/or future female athlete triad. Let's nip this in the butt now before it gets bad. You are obviously far being overweight so put the ridiculous idea of your being some nasty obese garbage eater with zero self-control out of your head. You should also know that your scale weight is a very poor reflection of your body composition. Body fat percentage, which can be measured accurately using skin-fold calipers, is the best way for you to determine if you have too much fat in proportion to your muscle mass. As a female, you probably want to range from between 15 and 25% body fat. You need to understand that if you ever find yourself outside of this approximate range you don't fix it by starving yourself, skipping meals, laxatives, etc... The best way to look good and be healthy is to eat small meals that are rich in complete proteins and fiber at regular intervals throughout each day with breakfast being the most important, and to exercise on a regular basis INCLUDING strength training which for a 13 year old girl might include such body weight training exercises as pushups and body weight squats. Okay, now go be healthy, not crazy.



It's normal. Most women have a pooch because of the fact that we are made to provide nourishment and protection for a developing fetus (not trying to scare you or encourage you to get pregnant). Think of it as both a bumper to protect a future baby. It's nothing to worry about.

besides, you should gain some weight because 95lb for a 5'1 is unhealthy. I'm 103 and i'm 5'0.
