Does weight training stunt your growth? Im 16?!

Question: Does weight training stunt your growth? Im 16?
Im 16 and does mild weight lifting (very mild) 3 times a week stunt my growth significantly? and am i supposed to stop growing around this age so it should not really affect me right?

Answers:

I am no authority, but my 16 year old grandson does weight training and is still growing like a weed and getting really muscular. Boys can grow until after they are 20 or over though.

Really heavy weight lifting may stunt your growth, but mild weight training is actually a really good thing, it builds muscle tone.

No. Stay away from the person that told you this. They are a moron.

IMHO

No. Weight lifting does not stunt your growth any more than standing on your head.
