I'm looking to drop weight fast and gain quite a bit of muscle, is jogging !

Question: I'm looking to drop weight fast and gain quite a bit of muscle, is jogging and weight training good enough?
I feel like i need a more vigorous workout but i feel like i lack the energy to keep a steady pace. I want more muscle and less fat, and i need some motivation. I take a multi vitamin everyday and it has energy boosters in it. Can anyone tell me a natural way to boost my energy before a workout? And is jogging and weight training enough to build muscle and lose fat or should i add something else in there?

Answers:

you should get on a B complex vitamin, and vitamin C and vitamin D..
u need more then the mulit vitamin

you should weight train first.. for 40-60 mins... then after your weight lifting... go for a cardio run.. as its easier to burn fat after... because u burnt off alot of carbs lifting weights..

dont do excessive cardio...too much will burn muscle.... keep it to 30- 40 mins max...

you also need 1-2 grams of protein for each pound u weigh

Dieting is the only way to lose weight. If you work out and don't diet, all you'll do is build muscle beneath the fat, making you bigger. Working out doesn't turn fat into muscle with the wave of a magic wand, you cannot target places to make them shrink, no matter how many reps and how many hours. You'll just be using whatever sugar is in your blood and stomach before replacing it again. You need enough quality calories gained through a balance of protein and carbs with every meal, it will greatly improve your energy. You shouldn't need suppliments to get your vitamins, your body has everything to get you what you need already, you just need to know what to give it. No energy drink can give you the same results as a sound diet.

power walking and sprinting(60/30) are far better than jogging. weight training is great but know how to do it right. merely throwing around weight is not going to get you anywhere but hurt. as far as energy is consider, i feel the only motivation you should need is your desire. if this is not enough then maybe you don't really want to work out. think about it, how often to you need motivation to eat or sleep. simply put, just enjoy yourself. working out should be a strain on your muscles not on your mind. good luck and remember to eat and rink plenty of water.

Vitamin B will boost your energy and running is one of the fastest ways to build muscle and lose fat, be sure to eat right as well, here is a great article on running to lose weight.
