What are some good ab workouts to get a 6-pack?!

Question: What are some good ab workouts to get a 6-pack?
I'm 5'9, 145, I have the build for a 6-pack and it's just waiting to get unleashed.

What are good ab workouts that get the job done?

Answers:

Lots of ab exercises you can do besides crunches:
- Leg throwdowns (partner stands at side of you and throws your legs down. don't let your feet hit the ground)
- Inverted jackknifes with ab ball (place palms on ground and thighs up on ball. Start flat out and roll up and in.
- Many ab ball exercises...virtually anything you do on an ab ball is working your core
- Side twists (russian twists) - feet on ab ball palms on ground (like jackknifes). Rotate feet to ground (both sides).
- Several weighted ab machines at gym

That's a few to get you started. You can also check out:

- Oblique exercises (twisting - works your 'love handles'). Do a lot of these using the ab ball: sit on the ball hold a 10 lb weight and walk your feet forward. 'Lay down' and with the weigh above you twist to one side-up-pause-twist to the other side. Ensure you're using your obliques to do the work.
- Start taking a thermogenic fat burner (will burn fat faster when your body temp rises - i.e. working out), ripped fuel 5x, or hydroxycut hardcore before your workouts. Don't exceed the daily recommended allowance and drink plenty of water. You don't NEED these, they just help burn fat faster while providing energy. You could take a multi-vitamin instead (relatively cheap at Wal-mart)

Don't forget the cardio/resistanc exercise/good eating to help burn the fat.

Many personal trainer friends, fitness buffs (male and female), and bodybuilder types. Myself, have been training personally for 13+ years

In order to get 6 pack abs you have to strengthen your abdominal core muscles and lose your body fat. The concept is simple but putting it into action isn't simple at all. It will take dedication, time and patience to get a six pack but in the end, the effort is well worth it. To get six pack abs you need to do two things: lose fat and Build muscle. You get this by dieting and exercising daily. You can have the most toned and muscular abs, but it will not show if there is a layer of fat over them. This article will discuss ways in which you can accomplish both of these goals.

Lose Fat
1. Do cardio workouts
2. Eat smaller dinners
3. Eat breakfast
4. Lift weights
5. Keep metabolism steady
6. Drink more water everyday
7. Switch out refined grains for whole grains

Build Muscle
1. Do crunchers
2. Do sit ups
3. Train your entire core
4. Do leg lifts
5. Do jackknife sit ups
6. Do static holds
7. Train your oblique muscles
8. Find new ways to crunch, bend and twist in your daily life

jogging is an excellent exercise because it let you lose weight
evenly throughout your whole body. If you want to lose weight in
specific areas, you should target them with exercises. If they are
your problem areas, they will be very difficult to tone. You will have
to work double on them. The best approach is this:
1. Lower/control your daily calorie intake (control for normal
weight, lower for overweight).
2. Run/jog to lower your overall body fat percentage.
3. Target your problem areas with exercises.
an excellent exercise, you can do it in front of your TV: sit on a
stool, and put your toes under something (piece of heavy furniture,
for example). In your hands hold a little dumbbell. Please, make sure
that it is not very heavy, start with one kilo, for example, or you
will damage your back and spine! Slowly move the upper part of your
body back, until it's parallel with the ground. Stop for a second and
move it back to the sitting position. Repeat ten times. Every week add
to the number of repetitions. You will see the results in a week,
guaranteed! You will see or feel under the fat - if you have any - six
pack and muscles. Dumbbells do wonders. Much better than these
crunches - I came up to three hundreds and there was no results AT
ALL. With the dumbbells you will see it in a week.

For me, I do crunches and add my own styles into it. Like to define it more and look better. Check out youtube, they have many types of ways to do crunches.

Also drink a lot of water and eat healthy, this plays a very important role to get better looking abs. The key is to have a low body fat percentage. The less body fat you have, the more your abs will look better and defined.
