Dried Fruits good or bad?!


Question: Dried Fruits good or bad?
I love to eat dried fruit daily especially dates, raisins, dried plums and figs. I always buy the organic/natural kind with no added sugar, glucose or fructose syrup. I'm not worried about putting on weight as i don't eat any chocolate/sweets or refined sugars and never have takeaways, i also have a fast metabolism and im quite active. Since the only sugars i get in my diet are from fresh and dried fruit is it ok for me to keep eating them daily?

DON'T even get me started on dried fruits. I overeat on dried fruits because I love them so much. I can't control myself when I eat them so this is what I did to prevent myself from gaining the extra flab:
1) I only grab a handful of raisins, dates, and fids. THat equals 3 handfuls. After I finish that, that's it--I am not allowed to eat any more dried fruit.
2) I walk or jog for 1 hour a day. This helps keep my weight in balance.

since you are exercising, and eating healthy (not eating refined sugars) you are good! keep on eating dried fruits like you did. Dried fruits are also good for you because they have vitamins and minerals like when they were fruits. People just criticize them because they are higher in sugar (because they are dried, duh!) and a bit more higher in calories.



I eat dried apricots, plums. figs, and pears as my "sweet snack".
I love raisins but they have way too much sugar per serving.
I eat this fruit in addition to fresh apples and citrus which is in season right now.
Dried fruit and raw nuts go with me as my home made trail mix.
The gas mentioned earlier comes from the soluble and insoluble fiber in the fruits.
Eat them in consistent amounts daily along with 1/2 cup of beans hot or cold and the gas will diminish and you will stay quite regular. Another healthy benefit.



I like to eat raisins because they have a lot of iron in them, but I am not sure how the sulphur affects the body in these dried fruits.



dried fruit is good, it does however make u pass wind more,, n don't eat to much as sum types do have hi levels of sugar



dry fruits are healthy and tasty joe.
