Question: What is best: walking or swimming?
In terms of weight loss, and assuming I walk and swim at a middle pace, which is best in terms of calorie burning? Swimming or walking? Thanks

Swimming! Swimming breaststroke, in particular, for 30 minutes will burn 300 calories compared to walking for 30 minutes, which burns only 180 calories.

Swimming, by far - you're using nearly all your muscles to swim. However, it will start to build up muscles in your neck - which can make you look quite masculine, assuming you're a girl. My mum went anorexic because she didn't like the muscles. It will also make you very hungry, and most swimmers a stocky - through muscles not fat. If you don't mind this then Swimming would be best - hope this helps :)



Swimming does use your whole body and thus will help you burn more calories. However, you should always do an exercise you find the most enjoyable and not one that will get you the best results but you hate doing.



Swimming! It works all your muscles and helps majorly! You'll see quick results if you do it for at least an hour a day everyday.
